Pizzetti & Montemezzi arranged by Pilati / Marcos Madrigal & Alessandro Stella

In the late 1920s, a young Italian musical prodigy, Mario Pilati, who would die in 1938 at the age of thirty-five, arranged for the Milanese publishing house Ricordi some of the orchestral works composed by Pizzetti (Concerto dell'estate, Tre preludi sinfonici) and Montemezzi (Paolo e Virginia). At the crossroads of symphonic poems and incidental music, these three works for large orchestra will enchant the listener with their vigorous writing and colourful poetry. Alessandro Stella and Marcos Madrigal's skillful atmospherics and radiant phrasing magnify Pilati's sumptuous arrangements, recorded for the first time.
