This recording is the the first collaboration of Italian pianist Alessandro Deljavan with Artalinna. It brings together three contrasting Sonatas and the famous Variations in F minor by Joseph Haydn, in fact two works from his full maturity (1793, 1794) with two opuses from the middle period (1774-1778) during which Haydn, the ebullient revolutionary, laid down the standards of the classical forms that were to structure a large part of creation until the end of the 19th century. The two scores of the 1790s represent a supreme achievement of "classical" genius.
