With this new programme recorded for Artalinna in Metz in April 2023, Aline Piboule continues her innovative musical explorations, unexpectedly linking two composers, both of them brilliant pianists. During their lifetimes, both Franz Liszt (1811-1886) and Olivier Greif (1950-2000) determinedly undertook journeys into the mystical. Aline Piboule brings together two works by each, as beautiful as they are complementary. By Liszt, the Ballade No. 2, enhanced afterwards by Bénédiction de Dieu dans la solitude from Harmonies poétiques et religieuses. By Greif, two Sonatas which are among his most beautiful works, Three Poems of Li T'ai Po (1977) and Codex Domini (1994), both played in the critical edition made by Anne-Elise Thouvenin et Aline Piboule. Two pieces by Bach bookend this recital.
